I received an undergraduate fellowship to travel to and research locations referenced in Haruki Murakami’s books “Kafka on the Shore” and “The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.” I spent two months in 2012 visiting locations in Japan photographing and documenting these locations. I used this research as the foundation for this website.

In building this website I wanted explore transferring the narrative structure of Haruki Murakami books in an interactive online form. I intend to continue refining and developing the concepts used in the creation of this website.
